The Boundary Waters Advisory Committee (BWAC), the group behind the restoration of the Powwow Trail, just published a guide to the trail. They also have a web page with current trail, water source, and campsite conditions.

This should be a really great resource as they complete the clearing of the trail and encourage more and more people to hike it.

The longer trails (BRT, Kek, SHT) all have guide books, but you have to purchase them. I don't know of any guide books for the shorter trails (Sioux-Hustler, Snowbank, Angleworm) but there is a lot of information about these trails available online.

Because of the current state of the trail, this is a really important resource for people who want to hike it. I know BWAC is committed to keeping it up to date.

The Kekekabic Trail guide is really great and while it's not necessary to hike the trail it makes it a whole lot easier. I hear the Border Route Trail has a good guidebook.

I did the whole trail back about '96' give or take and then the south part again about 2006??, then I walked up the Wye the year after the fire.....haven't been back since........need to spend some time on the Pow wow trail again! A huge thanks needs to go out to all the folks rebuilding and marking the trail for all the users.
