pilot: "That middle pic looks like a xps lazer eye bait... Nice fish.
Mike, I posted a question about swivels above. Do you have a favorite you prefer?"
Fishing topwater with a KVD 2.5 chartreuse sexy shad wake bait. I like size 4 - Spro ball bearing swivels.

WalleyeHunter24: "Small Mouth bass... the Carp of the BWCAW. "
I wish I'd caught more carp in my life, but they're hard to catch. I've only caught four and all three were thrilling. One hit a crank bait on the north shore of Lake Michigan. Another hit a tiny Rapala in the Whitefish River of the U.P. Still another hit a worm in the Wisconsin River. All three made muskies feel like milquetoast. The last one was a mirror carp that hit a minnow on the Mississippi River. The biggest was 20 pounds.
The Lindners are good carp fishers, but they're also good everything fishers.
I will paddle eternal, Kevlar and carbon.

A carp hit a crank bait and a rapala?? You snag it or was the lure just sitting on the bottom?

Not snagged. They were both lip-hooked. If you ever fish the Little Bay de Noc/Big Bay de Noc area on Lake Michigan's north shore, there's a peninsula that separates them and the tip of that peninsula is Peninsula Point. There's a lighthouse there and both my fishing partner and I lip hooked a carp on crank baits.

That came apart in a hurry! I've never caught a carp.
Molly is just trying to self-promote her status as a crankbait carp expert. ;/ Her last article was entitled "Crankbait Carpin' on a Budget" and appeared in the Spirit Airlines magazine.
Nice fish Mike.

LOL. Thank you lundojam for making me laugh this morning. I would read that article. In fact now I'm kind of upset it doesn't exist. Molly, got any time on your hands this week? :)
Nice fish QM -- glad you were able to find some nice fish down south in the BW this year.

Since you read the article, you might remember that I attached some trebles to an ear of corn and cast that.

WoolShirt: "WalleyeHunter24: "Small Mouth bass... the Carp of the BWCAW. "Please, someone clue me in....why the snobbery regarding SMB?"
The simplest answer is that the small mouth is not native to the boundary waters just as the common carp is not native to North America.
