What swivels do you die-hard anglers use? I know it may not matter, but something tells me perhaps it does.

Ball bearings are my personal preference, with style and size matched to species, gear, and fishing method.I find them far superior to plain barrel style. I'm a huge proponent of QUALITY terminal tackle (and all gear for that matter). I use snap swivels when trolling to ease in lure change. When jigging or lindy rigging there's always a swivel between my main braided line and fluoro leader. Why deal with line twist when a $.99 item will take care of 95% of it.

+1 This pretty much sums up my advice. I would only add that there are some lures and techniques where swivels are not appropriate, like jigs, especially tubes as they kill the all important darting glide, and some top waters will not work right with a swivel as well as some of the finesse techniques like Ned rigging. American Fishing Wire (AFW) is the best source I have found for affordable, decent quality ball bearing swivels and titanium leaders. Always use the smallest swivel that has enough strength rating.

I use ball bearing swivels if I’m fishing for Sunfish or Muskies. You rig is only as good as it’s weakest link.
