My wife & I are going to be base camping in this area 9/18 - 9/25, any tips on
where to fish would be much appreciated. We might head to Moosecamp or Wagosh as well (depending on traffic). Thanks, Mark.

We had good luck (numbers wise) on Gull Lake on a late season trip a few years back.

Might want to make the jump over to Beartrap, good Walleye Lake.

I second the advice to head into Beartrap for walleye. We've base camped on Thunder and had good luck on Thunder and Beartrap on two separate trips. The first site on your left as you come into Thunder was our base camp site both times. A nice site with good fire grate by the water and two nice tent pad areas. Our best fishing on Thunder was that entire bay between that campsite and the portage that brings you into Thunder.
Beartrap has only one campsite but if you get it you will love it. A very nice 5-star site.

If there's enough rain, there's a small stream flowing into Gun from the west or NW. Fish below that in Gun

Thanks, on the road now heading North, hitting the trail at first light, the weather looks good. I'll probably lay awake all night!

Are you back yet? How did you do? What fishing lures/bait/techniques worked well?

About the time you went out the walleye were still almost 20 feet down but as the weather stays cooler, the water gets cooler & they come up.
