I'm heading out on a backpacking trip this week and the forecast is looking colder than when I first planned it. I was going to bring some eggs for my first breakfast, but now I'm worried they may freeze. Any thoughts on how to keep them from freezing?
I really doubt that they would freeze during one cold day/night. Don't have them in the outside of your pack, and perhaps wrap some brown paper around them.
My first winter camping trip the eggs were in the cooler overnight. In the morning they were kind of Jello-like, we had to scoop them out with a finger but they were fine.
If you're really concerned for some reason, you could take OvaEasy freeze dried eggs. They are very good.
