Have you ever printed the MN DNR lake depth maps to help guide your fishing? I use a Cliff Jacobson trick and spray my copies 2 or 3 times lightly with Camp Dry and it works amazingly well to keep them waterproof. When getting all my stuff ready for my upcoming trip, I ran across some of my maps from 2009. Still in great shape and still water resistant.

Yikes! I have been absent from the BWCA for 9 years and on a whim put together a father and son trip. I started doing all the things I used to do back then to plan for a trip and thought I'd share my ideas. Thanks for sharing, I'll do a 10 yr hyperjump and go check out Voyager Maps.

Yeah, you can order them from the store here on this site. (i just got the whole set even though I had a few already) There are contours for many lakes. Some fisher maps have them too but I've come to like the Voyageur's more. I always take at least 2 brands though on trips in case one has a portage or campsite mis-marked which happens every once in a while.

You can also buy waterproof printable 8 x 11 paper. I've printed out a lot of online maps using that paper and my home office inkjet. Works well with reliable quality.
