My wife got me a nice new food pack for Christmas, and the brand showed Portage North. Huh? After looking, it looks like Kondos is changing their packs name to Portage North. At first I wondered where in the world did she get this... then she said the same place we got our portage packs.

They have an announcement on their website, but everything is still listed Kondos (even though it may ship Portage North)

I like the new name.

Interesting, I do love their packs, as well as CCS packs. Just depends on exactly what you want, but both are exceptional. I wonder why the change?

Someone I met at Curtain Falls this summer told me they were going out of business. I was kind of shocked, but at the time thought it was possible due to lockdowns and slow business. I've been on their website a few times since just to verify and have never seen a thing to suggest they were going out of business.

I heard they were going out of business as well. I have a half-dozen of their packs and they have all held up extremely well.

I note the BWJ is now selling CCS packs; BWJ had been exclusively selling Kondos prior to this year. So, I think there is probably truth in the rumors . . .although maybe the changing company name has to do with a change in ownership.

Anyhow, I hope they stay in business and stay in Ely, MN.
