I got winded out on Beartrack as I came through that small channel from Flinger Lake direction one time solo. I had my dog with, as soon as I got past the small bay into the main Beartrack lake I got dashed against some rocks. Had to kick the dog out and line the canoe 1/4 way around the lake. Then I could get back in and solo it, but had to have the dog follow me along from shore. Finally when I got on the leeward side of the lake I could let the dog back in and make it to the portage on the west side. One of the windiest times I have ever paddled and Beartrack is not a big lake.

May the rivers be crooked and winding, and your portages lonesome, leading to the most amazing view.
