I am sitting up here in NW Minnesota looking at the snow outside thinking I need to find somewhere with softer water. I would plan on going some time in March or April and was thinking about the Buffalo River in Arkansas. Would welcome any suggestion.

Thanks
Carl

The walleye fishing would be good where ever you go at this latitude!

Just based on your post title, I was going to suggest the Buffalo River. I have fond memories of doing that ages ago.

My wife and I just got off lake Jackson in Sebring Florida. It was a calm and pleasant first paddle of 2021 for us. I hope to trip into alder lake in May! Good day to all of you! Marc

Rivers in VA don't freeze. We've got the New, James, and Shenandoah for the main rivers with plenty of smaller ones in between. Or if you are looking for flat water canoeing we have several mountain lakes that you could paddle and camp.
