As we are looking at rolling out new changes this year, I don't want to leave anyone in the dust, but there are a couple of users out there still running some pretty old technology. If you are running Netscape or a version of Internet Explorer less than version 10, you may run into some formatting issues as the year goes on.
I recommend that everyone use either Chrome or Firefox as a browser in general, but IE and Safari will still be supported.

thegildedgopher: "Wait, what? Netscape was retired in 2008. I want to meet the person(s) still using this browser! Is your backup browser Mosaic?! ;)
IE is on the same path, Microsoft will stop supporting later this year."
I can't imagine it is a great experience. There is something odd that 3 people in the last 30 days are running a different version of netscape. One on 4.03, 4.04, and one on 4.73. And no one else for the past couple of years. Maybe facebook is bringing it back from the dead

Using dial-up, I suppose.

C’mon, don’t we all miss the days of Mosaic, writing websites in vi, and doing a daily check of the National Center for Supercomputing Applications’ What’s New list to see what stuff people have put online? Do we really need anything beyond a gray background, black text, and blue links? All this newfangled stuff Adam is requiring is like Kevlar canoes, carbon fiber bent shaft paddles, and ultralight tents. Pshaw!
Oh yeah, I use all that stuff. Never mind.

LOL, hey I just used vi 10 minutes ago... not to write html, but to edit a crontab.
I actually browsed the web using lynx (text browser) for a long time.

We do eCommerce solutions for large enterprises. You'd be amazed at what browsers we're asked to support in our large B2B clients. There are automotive suppliers still saying we need to design for IE9.
From the last Statement of Work I wrote so that formatting issues with geriatric browsers won't stop us from going live (and getting paid).
o Trivial - Minimal or no loss of functionality. Minor cosmetic problem like misaligned text, form/field alignment issues, or any other cosmetic issue that may be specific to any browser and/or version not specifically called out in Section 3 - Supported Browsers.

I use vi on occasion, but made My First Website (tm) using pico. I miss the good old days of reading mail using pine.
Also, doubtful anybody living is actually using ancient IE or Netscape. Probably a spoofed user agent.
