Nine guys went. 98 walleye, 15 northerns and a hand full of perch in two days. Weather was in the 30s with fog and clouds.

Last year, we had -21 with -47 wind chill. They were not yet driving trucks on the ice.



I was told the fresh water shrimp do not get any bigger than this.

Looks like it was an amazing trip! Was it busy out of Grams Island?

Not really.We were there at dark and maybe 7 vehicles.There was maybe 15 tents out by the high wires.
I'm sure not being able to drive on the ice kept out the #s.

Those are fat walleyes!

Note to self: Devils Lake fresh water shrimp would make a terrible etouffee.

One was 24 inches pushing 6 lb.

That's an awesome trip you had. Our annual trip to Devils has easily become my favorite ice fishing trip of the year. Just like your pics show, some of those fish that eat mainly shrimp get really fat!

I hunted ducks around there but never ice fished there. I’ve thought about taking a trip there many times before but never pulled the trigger on an ice fishing trip. Good job on putting fish on the ice.

Jigging rap was the most productive. I tried the live bait and was out fished. I had a previous post about the jigging rap.....
Even when the fish were in a negative mood.
That got them to bite...
