Does anyone have updated information on the portage from Loon to Heritage, #835?
Also, is the creek usable between the lakes? We will be there the middle of June 2021 if all goes well.

We did that portage 3 or 4 years ago. It was not that difficult. If you are planning on camping on heritage you want the northern campsite.

Past the portage takeout, the creek becomes a tangled mess. Watch out for the intersection with the SHT hiking trail....dont make a wrong turn.

Welcome to the board.

If you are fishing, for us the fishing was better on Loon than Heritage.

If water levels are good, the creek into Heritage is okay. There are a few turns and lots of water plants & the purple ones are especially pretty. John & I once went from Crane to Snow Bay then down to Loon, with a tow boat from Zup's. Had our 4 year old grandson with us & he did great. If the water level is low, be prepared for some muddy spots where the river is low.
