No, this is not a post about Budweiser. This is a post about Bell's Two-Hearted Ale. No matter how many beers I try, nothing compares to the well-balanced brew of two-hearted. Nothing.

I am looking and exploring, so if you have any suggestions. Please share.

Not sure where your are but in Wisconsin i love Rush River Brewing's Double Bubble.. Brewed with honey and 9%. And two hearted is a close second.

Two Hearted is a phenomenal beer. It's very simple and yet highly regarded even by those in the industry. If you like Two Hearted you like Centennial hops.

One of my favorite styles is Keller Pils and there are great versions being made by Fair State, Schell's, and Summit. Indeed also makes a great Zwickelbeer which is similar.

Due to quarantine I've been home brewing a lot more so have mostly been drinking my own beer. I have a 6 tap keezer and currently have a 100% brett brux belgian pale ale, a white IPA, a schwarzbier, and a helles on tap. Tomorrow I'm brewing a hazy IPA which admittedly isn't my favorite style since so many seem to taste the same/similar but I bought 10 lbs of hops recently and want to try out some new ones.

Two hearted is a great beer.

My favorite used to be Todd the Axe Man at Surly but I swear they changed the formula when Todd Haug left...or my taste changed but I think it is the former.

I have way too many beers I like...Toppling Goliath King Sue, Modist Dream Yard, Toppling Goliath double dry hopped Psuedo Sue.

I am sure there are many more I like better I just haven’t tried yet.

Two-Hearted was always the one and only go-to for me. It was the standard by which any other beer was measured. A trip to the brewery in Kalamazoo was heaven. Surly Furious and Todd filled in often. I'll still prefer that same style, but I am glad that the day came when I took this advice to heart: "Never settle on a 'favorite' beer." Great times spent now, exploring and comparing various **PAs and browns and stouts and porters and lagers and bitters... Just NOT fruity sours. Why are they even considered beer?

Love the Two Hearted. Also quite partial to Rush River's Unforgiven Amber.

If heading to the dark side I don't think I've found a better beer than Anchor Porter on tap.

I too, love the Two Hearted, but my "death row" beer will always be Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. It's the beer that was my first Pale Ale, and the situation I had it in was perfect. A cold mountian stream in California on the coast after a long day of hiking where we had to turn around. Found a NF campsite, and grabbed a case of SNPA and set up a little stream "cooler" of rocks to keep our beer cold. Before that, I thought I didn't like hoppy beers. 20 years later, I still love it.

I enjoy that beer. Your story involving your introduction to it is classic.

I think my brothers and I experienced Two Hearted during our trip to the Mid-West last summer. The bartender recommended it and his girlfriend helped us finish it off. Not bad.
Schweady: Years ago, I used to claim that I did not have a "Go-To" beer. That position seemed to irritate someone on this forum. It is still unusual for me to buy the same beer twice in a row.
A brewery nearby sells a Belgian Strong Ale at 19% abv. You cannot taste any alcohol. That is why they stamp your hand when you buy it, so you cannot buy it twice. Since we travel a lot, we have been to hundreds (at least) of breweries. The first visit, I have no idea of what to try. I am certain I have missed the best in many breweries.
We live in a "Golden Age" of beer. I figure on trying as many different kinds as possible.

No “go to” beer Jeriatric?

Not normal? I’d say you are the norm…almost everyone I know who says they have a “go to” beer…usually had a different “go to” beer shortly down the road or they just haven’t been exposed to many beers :)

My wife was just complaining about my empty beer cans. They are a collection in my "den," so that I can remember the local ones that I like a lot. There are over 50.

I too enjoy the Bell's Two Hearted. There's usually a 12 pack in my fridge.
I really like the taste of the Bell's Hop Slam but it's a Seasonal availability
product. Also at 10% it like drinking half a bottle of wine for each can.
That's a bit much for me.

Since my last post here, over a year ago, I discovered Two Hearted at the Bevmo liquor store over in Auburn. My two brothers were coming to visit so I could impress them with the very beer we experienced in Minnesota. So, my brothers get here and the first thing we do is visit the local Foresthill pub. We are sitting there chatting and I glance at the chalkboard announcing the new beers on tap. There's Two Hearted on the board.
So, I quiz my brothers. Do they remember the beer we had 20 miles outside of Ely. They had better memories than me and remembered the two steelhead-like fish. I told them I had some at home for them....and look up there on the wall, they have it at the Foresthill pub too.
A couple of weeks later, I discovered more Two Hearted in Foresthill's only grocery store and shortly after, at our regular grocery store over in Auburn.

So, Bell must have had an explosive increase in production.

Two Hearted is very good and a regular in our fridge.

I may be biased because it’s a couple miles from my house, but Lupulin makes some great beer. Especially if you enjoy IPAs If you’ve never had it and see it at your local beer store it is worth a shot. 2 new one I really like are Ski Break and Wobbly Walrus.
