I wonder if it comes with age. It does for me. Agreed that we are a kinder bunch. I used to be 'that guy' that raised my voice more than I should have. Trying to not be that guy anymore.

Maybe many of us learned the opposite of being positive this last few years was not much fun or constructive. We're all better than that.

I joined this site for two reasons:

1) A great resource for information.
2) And a community that projects positivity.

This site allows me to escape my daily life and dream, plan, and discuss the BWCAW. I want to be a part of and contribute to these things.

We can experience negativity in our everyday lives. Let's leave it at the door before entering here...

Along the same lines as tumblehome's comment, I come here to just relax and take in info about a place my family loves so much. I can go find the finger pointing, negativity and kindergarten behavior everywhere now days. It's nice to have a place to go where that kind of behavior is not necessary or tolerated by the entire group.

This forum is a breath of fresh air compared to just about any other social media or even most internet sites these days. I am so thankful for this forum. Keep up the good work Adam!

Makes a guy wish he could still paddle a big adventure. Haha! This forum has brought me a decade of enjoyment, both in my paddling days and my lesser paddling days. Friendships of all types have been made and I’m just grateful for that. Some I’ve never met in person who I’ve maybe even bumped shoulders with. Several have been there in some of my most trying times.

Adam, I sure hope you make a lot on those new cups you introduced. Small, kind of expensive, but it is a nice little cup that would be the bomb to have on a canoe trip. Thanks all for putting up with my curmudgeoness.
