I would bet the house that the picture is the campsite on the southeast shore of the narrow channel that connects the lower arm of Cirrus lake with the upper arm. I have stayed there several times with many fond memories. The site had suffered some overuse the last time I was there. Hope it has recovered some.

lindylair: "Excluding a lot of folks by posting a Quetico Lake...just sayin. BWCA lakes have proven to be plenty of challenge. "
Sorry. Not trying to exclude anyone. I rarely travel in BWCA in recent years so good pics are few. And like me, folks can use photos, maps, clues and luck to make an educated guess. My guesses tend to be less than educated.... :-)

Well, seeing's how some are hating on Quetico lakes, let's wrap this one up....
The first two photos were taken on opposite ends of this lake....
Here's another photo facing west/northwest looking at the only campsite on this lake....

tumblehome: "In fairness to pine Knot, there are many many people on here that do not go to the bwca. Nothing wrong with posting a Q photo IMO."
We've had them on here before without issue. Some have even posted photos of WCPP.

Robin.
I think the Quetico lakes offer some good variety to this game as it highlights some of the good variety of this forum. Some folks go to the same BWCA lake every year while some try something new every time. Some go to the PMA's. Some go to the Quetico. I think we have seen a good variety from that. Just my 2 cents.

Well, folks, we have a winner!! My next clues were going to say the ends of this lake have portages. It has lakers in its depths. And it has a pictograph that I couldn't find as I didn't know its specific location....
Payne.
Congrats, dentondoc!!

I did find the picto, but I’d have to go to archived photos since I’ve not been to the lake since 2005 (and I didn’t camp there).
