Is that squeeze Parkay I see? That stuff’s hard to find!"
That's because its basically toxic."
LOL. Spoken like a true chef. Thanks, Banks. (PS, I've had great luck bringing in a small plastic tub of butter/canola oil mix)
We all have to believe in something. I believe I'll go paddle.

djwillco: "Mocha: "gillis"
Mocha has it with Gillis! Thought I would try using a lake someone else recently used as an extra layer of misdirection, but you're too good for such simple minded tricks. :-)"
Well, it's only because I was trying to find enough gills photos last time but went with royal instead.
New lake coming soon, hopefully!

Toxically perfect, that is. Squeezy parkay is to the bwca as coghlans brand is to car camping - inseparably classic. Oh man, if I find that stuff I'm freezing 20 bottles, or maybe 40 and turning a steep profit.

tumblehome: "Is it bad to say I’ve never used it?
I use butter.
If the trip is long I clarify it- heat and skim off the fats.

Skimming off the solids (proteins and sugars mostly), not the fat. The pure fat is what remains when you have completed clarifying.
I agree that clarified butter is probably the ideal fat for camping. Shelf stable, solid in all but the warmest temperatures, high smoke point and delicious.
Nobody exists on purpose, nobody belongs anywhere, everybody’s going to die.

Banksiana,
Thanks for clarifying! Ha!
I was wondering about what I was writing. I thought butter was fat. Anyway...
Hopefully more people will try clarified butter instead of:
Ingredients for Parkay
liquid soybean oil.
partially hydrogenated soybean oil.
water.
whey.
salt.
potatoes.
vegetable mono- and di- glycerides.
soy lecithin.
