We are considering options for our first BWCA trip. Looking at a Moose Lake entry point , late in September. Birch to Knife and then a hard turn right into Amoebre. Day 3and 4 maybe over to Cherry for a few days and then back out.
Two of us moderate experience in canoes and fishing about average. Any suggestions on where we might find Small Mouth Bass and what tactics to use would be appreciated. We had considered a different entry point initially. Saw a Hammer Nature Photos video of Knife and changed my mind.

Late in September you should probably be throwing a lot of green watermelon, 3.5 inch tube baits. Try to focus your attention around any moving water. I wrote a fishing article about fishing tubes up there, if you are interested in reading it, send an email to queticomike@yahoo.com and request the tube article. Good luck!

Here's my trip report from Knife/Amoeber/Cherry in 2019

https://bwca.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=forum.thread&threadId=1161469&forumID=19&confID=1

We started at Moose, got a tow early in the morning and were on Knife on day 1 easily. Spent a night or two there on the north arm, then moved to Amoeber/Cherry for 2 nights, then South Arm for a night and then out to Birch for last night. Plenty of fish to be found in all those spots and very cool areas to see in all those lakes and portages and anywhere in between.

If you get serious send me an email
