Back to the BWCAW.
What lake does this flow into?
Facing SSE. Portage is to the left, not in the photo.

Yeah that does look like the falls between Rib and Cross Bay. Portage is on the left too.

I appreciate that! Funny thing, this is the second one of these that I've won this season... and it was Cross Bay Lake in both cases :-) Also Sedges, we did a trip to this area in May 2020, your trip reports out of Missing Link were a big help.
I will post a new lake in the morning...

Yes Sedges, your trip report was helpful to our group as well. Thank you!
Ghamer, the YouTube video you did of the area was really enjoyable. My father, brother and I were there around the same time, and may have seen the same moose and calf on Cross Bay! My brother and I paddled around a point and they were right in front of us! We froze and then carefully gave them space. Mama let out a little grunt at us as we paddled away.
It felt at times like you were capturing our trip perfectly!

BAWaters - Small world! Those moose were amazingly tolerant ... just kept feeding along the shoreline.

I knew I'd seen it. Just couldn't place it in my mind.
