Stunning photo, Gary. Such rich colors and, of course, a beautiful view.

I think someone posted a selfie taken at this spot and it was posted sometime last year. Hmmm... now to try and remember.

Lots of close guesses, so no additional clues yet.
Here's another shot from camp... to the NNE.
I love mornings like this... it was like a cloud bomb exploded in front of camp.

Is that your campsite down below the bluff on that island or spit of land?

Good eye... yes, that dark opening on the island in the first photo (from the bluff) is where we were camped.

Thx, ghamer. I had seen that bluff shot from your first photo somewhere before, but took me awhile to find it...your stunning colors and other pics were way nicer....

Will try to get the next lake up later tonight...

I kept hoping no one would guess the lake so I could just keep looking at your pictures. I’m not much of a camera person but would love to know what you used to shoot those photos. They are beautiful

02/26/2021 03:28PM
So the hills in the distance are south of Ogish/Jasper?

Thanks. I almost hate to admit how much gear I take. For that trip in 2012, I took a Canon 5D Mark III DSLR and several lenses. But most point and shoot cameras these days do a great job... especially with a little post processing experience. Do a search here for cameras and you'll get some great suggestions. Here's one discussion: cameras for BWCA

Gamer,

Those are indeed heavenly pictures. They really tug at my heart strings.
Please post more when you can.

And a second request, what are the hills we see in the background?
I suppose I should look up that lake.

Thank you for the info. I have much to learn about cameras before I can take an investment step that much bigger than I have. Someday, someday.

Thanks Tom - I really enjoy trying to capture the Northwoods with the camera... I know the process makes be a better observer.
As for the hills, I looked with Google Earth and the best I can tell, they are in a line roughly between Gabimichigami and Kekekabic.
