This is certainly one of the greatest outdoor mysteries, from the radiated clothing to the missing eyebrows to the states of undress. Any hypotheses about what happened and any other great outdoor mysteries you'd like to share?

The disappearance of COL Percy Fawcett in the Amazon in 1925 probably qualifies. There are probably countless similar examples, but he was a well known personality and it was quite a media sensation at the time. Same could be said for the Franklin Expedition to the Arctic.

The podcast "Supernatural with Ashley..." is a worm hole that happens to cover both those topics and more.

If the Colonel had just brought his GoPro and SPOT, there would be no mystery.

A number of the older locals, tell a story of a missing person here in Two Harbors back in the 70's. It was in the winter and she had been missing for a few weeks when they found her truck, parked along Highway 2 up around Greenwood lake. According to the story, the truck was parked off to the side, passenger door was open, keys in the truck and foot prints in the snow going off into the woods. They followed the prints for a few hundred yards and then the prints just disappeared, as if she just vanished?

I have no way of validating any of this, other than to say it's a story that years back was more commonly told than it is today.

Missing 411 show on Amazon Prime has some interesting stories. A few of them, at least in my mind can be explained, especially with a little research, but others leave you wondering a bit.

I saw the Dolmen rock up on the Kelso River one trip. The rock on top is as big as a Volkswagen supported with three smaller rocks underneath. Plenty of ideas who or how it got there, but still puzzles me.

This story is so bizarre, with the conditions of the bodies as they were found, that my mind will be wrestling with this for some time...

I belive they just did more research on this and they determined that an avalanche caused the death's. They were saying the new technology we have today they were able to make that assumption. But.... nobody will ever know for sure what happened that night.

I read that. What is hard to understand is that while two of the bodies were missing their eyeballs; one was missing their tongue and the other was missing their eyebrows. What!?

But as you mentioned; we will never know...

I think it's related to the microwane experiments that were done by the Soviets during the Cold War....in an attempt to make super soldiers....reporting said those irradiated became quite agitated and fought like Vikings....

I don't know how long the victims were out there before they were located. Missing eyeballs isn't unusual, that's the first thing that buzzards go for when they find a cadaver.
