I just bought a pair of Wetland Mucks- for work. I wasn't sure that I bought the right type. I drive a concrete mixer and am in a lot of mud clay water and concrete all day. I noticed that my Wetlands were $60 more but felt they were the same as the cheaper Edgewater type. I will be wearing them all year. Does anyone know which would be the best for my job?? I climb the truck ladder n fenders all day long too n need traction to be good. Any advice would be appreciated.

skip the edgewater, they are a little to slick after some wear, the sole dosnt have any lugs like your current boot.

Thank you! That's what I needed to know. I have been buying insulated Redwing's for years at $300 a pop. They only last one season for me even though I oil them constantly etc. These seem very comfortable. I appreciate your response. Ty

Consider Dryshod over Muck Boots. Sturdier and last longer.

Neither company seems to list the total height of the boots. Anybody know where to find this info to compare?

I also strongly recommend Dryshod over Muck. Dryshod is by the original owners of Muck. Ever since Honeywell bought Muck, their quality has not been as good. If you already have Mucks, be prepared to at least have to glue the outsole back on at some point. I believe the Dryshod hi cut is about 18"" tall while the mid cut iss something like 12-14" tall.

I will get dryshod next pair of boots. I had to wear the Mucks already and so they are mine now. They hopefully will last a while. I had no info really but had tried Bogs too and the Mucks were more comfortable. My biggest problem was finding anything in a store. I can't go thru all the online ordering and then back and forth returning to get the right fit at this time. I waited to long to go get them. I appreciate knowing all of this. Next pair of boots will get dryshod. I am a little worried that they will be much to warm during the summer. My Redwing's are insulated nm r fine in the heat. Hopefully these will be too. I had hard time finding the info I needed to choose the coolest type. Tractor supply was the only store where I was able to try on a few different types. Dick's had nothing even though they have the most online and I also went to Cabela's. I didn't spend enough time there n should have looked longer at the dryshod boots. Thank you.

The Mucks (Wetland) are the tallest of theirs at 16" n come just below my knee. The Edgewater was just an inch lower. Both have good coverage.

Love Wetlands but haven't tried Edgewaters.

I reached out to Dryshod and they said most of their mens boots are 17" full calf or 15" mid-calf.

I asked for a recommendation on a style with minimal insulation, good traction and maximum coverage and they responded as follows.

"I think the Destroyer or Mudslinger would best suit you then. They have minimal insulation - they are lined only with a moisture wicking lining. The Gusseted version of these offer a little more height as well. I am pretty sure they are 19” tall – I would have to check to make sure. These are 2 new styles for us, so they will not be available until April"
