This should be an easy one. Kind of a crappy pic, but it's my all-time favorite. Me, circa 1986.

BWCA, looking north.

Hint: this dynamic body of water is accessed through a Gunflint Trail entry point. Birds were out that day but they were hard to hear.

Is your last post considered another clue? To allow me another guess?

Winner, winner, foil chicken dinner.

This is Little Rock Falls, technically on the Pine River flowing out of Magnetic Lake. This flowage becomes the Granite River north of Clove Lake.

You're up, PineKnot!

Thx, Mike. After I hit submit on Granite River, I was looking at photos and thought, crap, I bet it's Pine River. I guessed when you posted "dynamic body of water" you were hinting this wasn't a lake....great pic from that earlier era btw. I'll try to get something up soon.

Rich.

IF you can't hear the birds, I would guess that means there is a water fall.

Most of the lakes in that area run east and west, so kind of weird to have this one running north and south.

I don't really know where the water falls are, except maybe Johnson Falls.

How about Horseshoe.
