I just bought a PiranhaMax 4 DI at Walmart for $27 on clearance. I have a canoe here at home but will be going to BW in August this year. Looking for ideas on battery packs for this unit. Like to try out on mine and fine tune for BW. Thoughts? Screw on Brackets to use?

Thanks

Here is what I use and it works excellent. Shop around should be able to get a little cheaper. I love it. Changed locators over the years and still use the same case. case

That's the case that came with the older Humminbird portables, like my PirhannaMAX 210 Portable. Terrific design. Current "portable" models put the unit inside an oversized bag. Agree that it is overpriced, but good to see that it's still around to convert an updated unit. Well, 1 available, anyway.

A Miady 12v 8ah lithium battery from Amazon is just under 2 lbs and theoretically should run your locator for over 40 hours.

I use a 10 AA pack. I just put it in a zip lock and tape it closed. Lasts me about 6 days with 5 or 6 hours per day of use.

I bought a 10 battery pack on Amazon filled it up with the copper tops and my helix5 ran for only 1.5 hours in the kitchen. I'm going to get some Energizer lithiums next and test
