I eat a fair bit of ramen. This habit has resulted in the discovery of what I call the best bowl for a buck. The packaged version at right cost me a buck at the supermarket. The empty version at left has been through the dishwasher several times without any wear. It is also microwaveable. Note the weight. :-)

Interesting idea. Disposable items are a good way to find things that are very light. Such as people who use plastic soda bottles for carrying alcohol fuel or drinking water.

I'm guessing that the ridges are there to provide rigidity despite the thin plastic. So, you probably have to choose either ultra-light weight and cleaning ridges or a bit of extra weight and a smooth bowl.
