In years past (probably before recreation.gov handled permitting) you were able to change the issuing station where you received your permit. There is an edit option that says "I need to make a change" but it is all grayed out and does not allow you to click on it. Has anyone been able to change the COOPERATOR OR ISSUING STATION recently? Is there some way to contact recreation.gov to make the change?

Reason for change is that a different outfitter offers a tow. Just want to keep it to one stop instead of having to go to two different outfitters. Not a huge deal really, just convenience.

I just checked my reservation and you are correct, that option is currently grayed out. I wonder if it is a temporary situation and will change closer to entry date. I will be watching this thread to see if anyone finds out more details. I signed up to receive all my permits virtually so won't affect me at all.

I dug a little deeper and found a number to call - (877) 444-6777.

I spoke with a couple of people who transferred me around. One lady tried to make the change but got an error stating she could not change the cooperator at this time. She checked with others at recreation.gov and told me it can only be changed from the forest service to a cooperator and not from a cooperator to another cooperator. I could check with the issuing station to see if they could transfer it (but I kind of doubt this would work). Anyway, maybe this helps for anyone who also wants to change the issuing station.

Hmm....you used to be able to change it however you wanted.

Can you still do the print at home option like last year?

Never noticed this option. No matter, we always go through an outfitter for a canoe, so it's easy to name them as the issuing station.

I would contact your outfitter of choice and see they what have to say.

I thought that outfitters could issue an existing permit as long you had the orginal paper work.

I was able to change mine about 6 weeks ago from a virtual issuing outfitter to an in-person cooperator.

I believe (although I haven't gotten 100% clarification on this yet) that only a Ranger Station can change a permit from one cooperator to another. Worth a call to the local ranger station, they have access to all the permits regardless of where they are set to be issued.
