I especially appreciate holy week and the sense of the centrality of Jesus, his life, his death and his resurrection. It's the best! I also enjoy celebrating the resurrection with our family and our grandchildren. My wife and I are fully vaccinated and have been/are careful about hanging out in groups where people are not masked. We tried attending a local church a couple weeks ago and noticed that almost nobody was masked at all at any time. This baffled me. But we crossed off that church from the possibilities for Easter. My daughter's church has been observing care during the pandemic so we made plans to attend there and then connect with children and grandchildren for dinner and easter egg hunts.

My wife encountered an unmasked, unvaccinated person on Tuesday for an extended time and today found out that person has tested positive for Covid. My wife cannot be tested until Monday. So, it looks like our plans to celebrate the resurrection at church and with our family are undone.

I struggle to understand why people are refusing to be vaccinated and why people refuse to wear masks. I've heard some of the reasons and I don't understand. Ultimately, an expression of personal independence can easily affect so many people downstream from you. My wife and I will still celebrate the resurrection of Jesus but it will be at home and alone.

Quit focusing on other people. Focus on what God's Son has done for you.

The good Lord maybe hinting that your focus is too much on your family and other people. And not on Him fully.

I understand your struggle, but remember. We live in a sinful world where everyone thinks of themselves first. Even us.

Jesus commands us to forgive not 1 time, but 77 times. Meaning EVERY TIME. Easy to say, hard to do.

Good Friday is upon us. Reflect, Repent, Rejoice.

I don't understand it either. When I wear my mask, the unmasked have asked me what do I fear? Why don't I trust God? I just roll my eyes at them. No need to try and explain because they won't listen. My age group won't get vaccines till summer at the speed we are going.

I love my church. About 60% no longer wear masks and my kids are part of a handful of kids that wear them in youthgroup. The older people have gotten their vaccines so I can see why they are done, and the younger says that covid won't hurt them. As long as they allow me the freedom to wear one then I will allow them the grace to not wear one.

No matter what I won't let Covid determine when and where I go to church. I teach Chinese students English online and watch as lots of their grandparents died. I see the horrible persecutions the Church goes though just to follow Christ. Thank you Lord I live in a country where I can go to church with a mask and not worry about getting a beating, having my kids taken away and losing everything I own.
