I'll be traveling with a group of five on East Bearskin, heading out May 14 for six nights. We're willing to paddle distances, do a loop vs basecamping, etc. What would you suggest for fishing and overall tripping, especially given this early ice out probability? (Yes, we’re going to Johnson Falls!)

That’s a fun trip. We have had some great fishing in that area, too. Canoe, Crystal and Alder have been where we've found fish.

Spaulding has an old cabin that’s fun to explore, too.

Caribou has excellent fishing; walleye, smallmouth and northerns. Little Caribou can also be a productive lake for the same species.
