Not sure if this is a 'thing' or not???

...but, I went to L&M fleet today and was looking for the small green propane tanks -which they usually (literally) have a pallet full of them on display. I could not find any so, I asked an employee and he told me they haven't had any for quite some time and it will be, at the earliest, 6-8 weeks before they can realistically expect a shipment.

I'll admit ignorance as I haven't been keeping up with things the past year (not watching news) or so but, this seems strange that they wouldn't have these. Has anyone else ran across this? Is there actually a shortage or stoppage in production going on or, was this just an anomaly?

It happened this winter, too, when we finally got enough ice to get out on. I went ahead and bought the Flame King 1 lb refillable set up. I like and it works well..rotated with 3 and refilling them with a 20 lb tank for the rest of the ice fishing season. These are certified to be refilled legally.

Menards was completely out of them for a couple months during the winter.(more folks ice fishing this past winter?) So when they finally got some in recently, I picked up a case of them. We use a small portable grill for our grilling needs at home.

I was in a Walmart in Cloquet lat week and they had a huge shelf full. 2 pack for $7
Menards in Duluth was out of them most of the winter.

There are still lagging inventory shortages of all sorts of misc. things out there, due to Covid.

L&M is my local go to for all things outdoor so, it was initially alarming to get the report i did. However, I have since located a few other local places that had them in stock.

Perhaps, a good lesson to be learned? I shouldnt take so many for granted and have an increased attitude of gratitude.

Getting them this past ice season was difficult. My understanding is production of the green canister was the problem, not a shortage of gas. I did purchase the refillable adaptor, but never had to use it.

I bought this to refill 1lb propane tanks from a 20lb tank. Figured it saves a little money and cuts down on consumption of the 1lb tanks.
