I picked up a Wiggies 20 degree sleeping bag. If you're in the market for one of their bags, I recommend giving them a call before website ordering and giving them your height and weight.

I'm a bigger body build, 6ft 300lb logger/midwestern farmer build. I had to return the XL by extra wide and get a custom XXL by XXW. You don't want to pay the return shipping, just get what you need the first time. His bags run tighter than what the dimensions say because of the insulation.

Anyway, the custom fits the same as my old Browning Chaparral 30 degree. It's not super lite, but I would absolutely take it canoeing if it is going to be really hot. I might just bring a woobie and sleep on top of it or just unzip it completely.

We have several cold nights coming the next two weeks, down to 36 or 37, and I'm going to try it out. I know my time up in the north, we saw night lows down to upper 40s. This should work pretty well.

i ran my 20 degree wiggy bag down to 37 last night. it was 37 in town, so i am thinking it got colder than that [35ish] , out here in the country, north of town. i had to vent the rain fly on my tent, to keep from cooking, starting out as the temps were dropping. about 4:30 woke up to take a leak and crawled back inside. at that time i did use the draw string hood, just reduce the opening, but i stayed absolute toasty , in a tshirt and shorts.

maybe i look for a 30 or 40 d egree bag from wiggies , late on. i am happy.

Wiggy is a bit of an odd duck, and not well liked in the outdoor product world, mainly due to his bluntness and brash personality. However, he makes a great sleeping bag that has never received the recognition it deserves, due to himself. Lamilite is an amazing insulation fiber that actually works amazingly well. I am actually curious as to why his are not on the same level as CCS for the BWCA. They just do not get the press that the big mainstream companies get, which is probably most of the 'issue'".

I didn’t know Wiggys did custom sizes - that’s good to know.

heres what i dont like about the sleeping bag world. if something is rated to 20 degrees. you need to sleep comfortably at 20 degrees. my 30 degree bag, your freezing at 45.i may be alive in the morning at 30 degrees. but i am not going to a happy guy.

the wiggy is a big bag fully compressed. but its a solid bag, about the size of my 30 degree. if i callef them up and said make me a 40 degree mummy. that would pack even smaller.
they just dont get any love and i sont know why.
