I have never been a "count down" type of guy. I have a lot to keep me busy and consider a "countdown" an open invitation to in effect skip to the time I would be waiting for. I would never trade/give away the between time to arrive at the actual dated desired. Probably many who do the "countdown" feel the same, but I know some would trade/give away the between now and then time just to get there sooner. Would you?
the greatest come backs are reserved for those with the greatest deficits.

The anticipation is a key part of the adventure. I'm blessed to have a few turkey hunts, opening weekend of trout season and putting up a few more tree stands for deer hunting to keep me busy and occupied before heading to the BW. But the countdown definitely has begun and it's enjoyable.

Anticipation is a good description. That is what I feel.

I try not to think of my first soft-water trip of the season until just a day or so before I start getting my gear ready. Of course, I start getting my gear ready sometime around mid-February. I'm just guessing here, but I probably have about 38 days until I go in, give or take an hour or two :)
Just put one foot in front of the other; eventually you'll get there.

I have to wait until August 8th! But I'm going to "practice" by solo car-camping on 120 acres of private property pretty deep in the Governor Knowles State Forest on the St. Croix River near Grantsburg, Wisconsin. It'll be nine days in my tent.

Times up for you! Enjoy!"
I will, thanks. My senses are also yearning for the North woods.
One thorn of experience is worth a whole wilderness of warning
