The earlier photo was taken in Aug 2013. A month prior to that my son and I paddled past this site and the group camped on it and stayed at a different campsite a little over a mile away. These two photos from July 2013 are from this campsite, the first facing southeast, the second facing southwest....

If I'm lucky enough to win again, Mocha, I'll try to find some old photos of Argo.
Here's a couple more campsite photos, this island site about 1/2 mile from the second campsite posted earlier. The first photo here faces mostly east, and the second on faces southeast. Interestingly, there's more than 2 campsites on this particular island....

Our last morning, we leave that second campsite by heading east, quickly hanging a left, and catch some nice eater walleye along the way and a nice fat pike up on the north shore before before exiting Quetico....
The first photo is facing northeast and the pike photo is facing mostly north....

Interesting story....there's another island campsite very near the second campsite in my series on Lake 96. A bit after sunrise, a solo paddler with a nice dog paddled over and asked if I could help him as he wasn't sure where he was. He thought he was on the far western end of the lengthy "narrows" but his map wasn't matching to what he was seeing. Nearing dark, he decided to camp and figure out things the next morning. I told him he was on the far eastern side of the narrows and together we figured he musta got turned around in the middle of the narrows after initially heading west. I pointed to the direction he needed to go and said if he held to that general direction, he'd eventually make it out of the narrows and back to his EP. He said thanks and off he went.
Anyway, I may be wrong here, but Lake 96 may have more campsites than any other lake in Quetico, and perhaps more "shoreline" as well....
