Had some business next-door, and then went into the store to take a look. I saw this rain gear. My L.L. Bean Stowaway jacket hadn’t been performing as well the past couple years, despite additional waterproofing treatment. So I tried this on in the store, I took it off and crumpled it up to see if it would pack away to my satisfaction, and ended up buying it. It’s Duluth Trading Alaskan Hardgear Stormwall Jacket. I really like the two chest pockets and waterproof zipper.
(It was priced at $179, rang up at $144 I believe.)

Looks like a really nice one for the price. I'll be interested in the follow-up review after some serious use.

When ever I get me rain gear I put it on and stand in the shower to make sure or actually rain proof

The jacket looks solid. I'd be interested in it's performance after you complete the above reference backyard test in the rain. Makes me think of Gene Kelly in Singing in the Rain. :)

correct. poor Howard had to put up with all the comments for a whole day.m he did get his 300 game.

The REI store in Seattle used to have, and may still have, a rain room to try out rainwear before you buy.
