I looked quick to make sure this wasn't done before. What is your favorite campfood you get at Aldi's?

We like the freeze dried apples, freeze dried yorgert, the jurkey, the beef sticks, the sting cheese, the shelf-stable bacon, shelf-stable cheese tortellini, the pasta dinners and the rice meals.

I have not shopped at Aldi's for ages so I'm not familiar with options. I will watch this post.

I do use Trader Joe's for rosemary marcona almonds, their dried mango (tastes just like fresh mango!) and their dried mandarin oranges (because I always crave citrus on trips).

The dried fruit and nuts are amazing. They have had some freeze dried fruits at times, such as strawberries. Their "fancy mac & cheese" is great, it's the one that has noodles and the squeeze pack of cheese like Velvita.

Also, it's just Aldi, not Aldi's, jut like it's Target, not Target's, or Barnes and Noble, not Barnes and Nobel's.

That's kind of funny. Right after you misspelled Velveeta you corrected Aldi's

I buy my lunch/snack foods at Aldi:
Protein bars
Nuts (walnuts, almonds, trail mix)
Jerky
Dried fruit (cranberries, mango and a few others).

I also buy oatmeal and cocoa for breakfasts there.

Aldi also has some shredded cheese that stays loose even when it's warm. It does not get oily. It's in a red bag. I also take a lot of Aldi food mentioned above.

I have to get blueberry clif bars though.

Aldiis has a dried tortilini with stuffed
mushrooms and other kinds.
I just tried making some and leaving about 1 cup of
Water. Then adding 1 packet of brown gravy mix.
Thats about a $2.75 meal. Thats fast and easy

My latest experiment for a "stay in camp day" morning breakfast involves Aldi purchased food. Usually I make lots of different foods from scratch & dehydrate it myself. Sometimes I find things I can throw in the dehydrator as-is from the freezer section of the super market.

I make an eggbake from scratch that I listed here years ago in the breakfast section, its amazing but time consuming & makes a lot...enough for many trips (for 2).

I found this in the freezer section of Aldi and I am going to try it at home with my canoe partner to see how it tastes, how long it takes to make, how filling it is etc. I think I will add rehydrated powdered eggs at camp (or real eggs), but want to make sure it fits in my new fry pan & see how it dehydrates straight from the package.

I noticed yesterday the dried mango was about $2 cheaper than at Kroger across the street. The dried fruit I've tried from there is similar to the name brand.

Reminds me of the OP's list of favorite foods: I wondered that if honey is bee vomit, (ok, I know--not really) then would "sting cheese" be their poop! :)

I like using the Aldi unsweetened applesauce and their flavored drink mixes to dehydrate and make fruit roll ups. It peels off the tray sheets easier than some other brands.

They have an oat enriched pancake that is hydrated with just water. No eggs/milk needed. It’s pretty awesome. I will mix in a bag and cut a corner to dispense cakes.

These are a great find. I buy these regularly for my longer canoe trips. Great source of vitamins and....sugar :)
