On the fishing forum, there was a line about fishing Gidgikiki Lake.
I camped there on the first night of a solo in 97, but moved on without fishing.
I knew it had trout at the time, but I checked the DNR website and saw it was last sampled in 1976.
Got me wondering, for others who check that site.... What lake (besides some never tested) have you run across that have gone the longest without being sampled ?

I know I've seen 1973 or earlier (when I was born- that's why I remember) but Moosecamp ( N of 4town) is 1974. Gun is 1973 .There may even be a few floating around from the late 60's.

I'll have to double check on my home computer , but I don't think Toe lake was ever sampled , SAK just east of Eddy falls , cool beautiful little lake with some colorful smallies.

The DNR lake finder over the years has slowly removed alot of the old fishing surveys. There are a few out of the way lakes that I fished in the late 90's and early 2000's as a result of an old survey off the DNR website. If I check them today, they simply show up as never surveyed.

I've called the local DNR office and they will tell you about the lake and the fish that they surveyed...I never got an answer to why the surveys keep disappearing from the website.

Lake finder did add a tab , upper right side for years , so some can go back to the 70's before that change, you could only go back 10 years, for surveys and stocking

before the internet you could request 3 written reports each week. And that's what I did , keep all my paper reports in 2 files (local)&(BW)

I used to have a three ring binder with all the surveys that I'd obtained. I wish I still had it. I tossed when the info came online, but now alot of it's gone when they delisted or filtered out some of the old surveys.

Stumpy - so to answer your question. I have a cabin on a lake. The lake was surveyed in 1956 and again in 1978...not since.

I checked a few other lakes that I suspected would be similiar, but couldn't find anything currently online older than what you've listed.

I would guess there are two factors on where-when-why lakes are sampled, budget/resources and time frame between each sample period. But then again there is the wild card of politics and public demand.
