It looks ice out came a week or so ago. So the fishing opener will be about 3 weeks after ice out.

What will the fishing be like this year? Will it be too late for trout in the shallows? What about walleye? Will the walleye still be staged in moving water?

Ice out came earlier than norm but since then temps have been quite cool so that should mitigate things somewhat. . Ice is still on E Lakes - at least in parts. trout should still be shallow. Walleye will be where ever the water is warmest- moving water (usually) and pinches and N bays and shores. Don't forgot shallow mud bays adjacent to 15' or more of water for some post spawn pigs. my .02.
