A big win for the BWCA and the City of Duluth today! The Supreme Court has affirmed the reversal of PolyMet's Permit to mine.

Sulfide mining in a watershed is impossible to do without risking groundwater and surface water contamination. Literately impossible.

Long way from over. There is going to be an increasing demand for copper. All those electric vehicles will need copper. We need electric vehicles to save the planet don't we.

Yep! And how do you get that copper? You dig it out of the ground.
With what? Big machines made out of steel.
What do they run on? Diesel fuel.
How do you make them out of steel? You dig iron out of the ground.
With what? Big machines - made out of steel - that run on diesel fuel.
How do you melt the iron to make steel? With coal.
How do you get the coal? You dig it out of the ground.
With what? Big machines - made of steel - that run on diesel fuel.
How do you transport the iron ore - and the coal?
With big trucks - and ships - and trains - made of steel - that run on diesel fuel.
What do the electric cars drive on? Roads.
What are roads made of? Asphalt.
What's asphalt made of? Rocks and oil.
How do you build and repair roads? With big machines - made of steel - that run on diesel fuel.
Etc.
Etc.
Etc.

Yep - electric cars are the answer.

You want more copper and nickel? Get rid of the penny and nickel. It can be done at any time, saves money, and simplifies sales. It's a simple solution that people would accept with a little education.
