How do you guys store ghee on trips?

I like to premeasure everything at home so all I have to do is toss meals in the pot and boil. I've been looking at ghee as a butter alternative in recipes because it is more shelf stable. I just don't see a great way to store it. If I don't premeasure, a squeeze tube would work really well but I don't see those available.

I pack either ghee or butter in a small (2-3 inch) nalgene with a wide top. I just estimate how much to add to everything. I find these are pretty easy to load with butter or ghee, give easy access, and don’t leak. I use to use a Coughlan squeeze tubes, but found on cool mornings it was too stiff to squeeze and on hot days it was too runny and may leak.

I just use the plastic jar it came in. ;)

The plastic jar it came in. Lately we have been using butter flavor Crisco to fry our fish. Much easier to transport than oil.

Repack in a smaller plastic container (I heat it to liquefy & pour into the new container).

I get about 4 fish fries out of this (~2/3rds of a cup) on a solo trip, though I am sparing - using just enough to crisp & being sure there is basically none left at the end.

Ghee is an item that varies wildly in consistency and taste from one brand to the next, as I discovered the hard way.
