It was almost a full 10 days after ice-out up here in Ely, but I finally got out for a quick overnight paddle with some friends. We hit up the Kawishiwi Triangle Loop heading out of Lake One, starting early morning after a snowstorm had just blanketed the Northland in about an inch of fresh snow. By mid-day the sun had come out and we were warming ourselves at a gorgeous south-facing campsite overlooking the South Kawish. Enjoy!

Thank you for sharing. I enjoyed that emmensly. We just got a new dog in late November. Interestingly, we named her Lucy. I hope she will learn to go on trips with me as well as your Wendell has.

Just watched it last night in anticipation of our trip next week :) I was surprised that some of the sites that your group was looking to camp at were taken. I'd thought that there would be no one on the water. Looks like a great time and your chef did a helluva good job, the food looked fantastic. Love the dog!

You're welcome-happy to share-we had a blast. Wendell is an Australian Shepard mix, all we know is that his mother was an Aussie. Father totally could have been a border collie, judging by the way he looks (his mom was a ruby-colored aussie).

We only saw one other person on this entire route and it was someone heading in solo to do some fishing for the day. None of the campsites were taken, we had the pick of the litter.
