Finally getting back up north for a guided fishing trip with Steve from Seagull Creek Fishing camp. We're staying in one of their cabins for three nights and fishing two days. It's mid-July, which I know can be tough, but it can also be great for trophy size walleye. We're catch and release so no worries we'd strip the lake of the breeders!!!

So excited for this trip and time away from city life and job and stresses.... and I get to see all my long lost peeps.

Steve is supplying all the fishing gear, we supply the normal personal gear PLUS our and HIS lunch! I'll have to plan something really good. Was thinking of pranking him with sauerkraut, but apparently he likes it, so that's out.

Just wanted to share my excitement

Sounds like great fun to me. Quite a few years back, we had great success on both Sag and Seagull in mid-July, with the guides from Gunflint Lodge. Surprisingly we had good luck right in the middle of a bright sunny day, fishing the shoreline, slow trolling Lindy rigs with live bait. The Lakers will be in fifty feet of water or more. Suggest fishing Seagull too. My son has a trip planned for the week of May 22 thru May 29. They are staying at the Seagull Outfitters Sag cabin. I'll let you know how they do. Good Luck, I would ask your guide to bring his own lunch. They don't come cheaply, LOL.

Sounds like fun! We will be up fishing Sag and a handful of other lakes in the area this June. This is our second year fishing Sag. We did OK for lake trout last year but didn't find any walleye. Thinking of hiring a guide for a day this year and have heard great things about Seagull Creek.

that's all seagull creek does is guide fishing trips. they aren't naturalists or anything, just fish. my guide, steve, has been there probably 40 years. that's a LOT of fishing.
we got two day use motor permits for sag, so we'll be fishing there. no canada most likely. 730am to 5pm... that's a lot of butt in the boat time!

Not nearly enough eating sized walleye in this fishery. If you want spend all day or several days fishing for a trophy - okay, I guess, but you might as well go muskie fishing.

Northern Light much better producer.

Can't go to Canada yet. Unless I mean the northern light about 10 miles up the trail from grand marais.

We don't need to bring fish home but would like to catch some big ones. Not picky.

Sure some eaters are nice…but it’s the catching that is fun…plus factor in your price per pound of walleye after adding up the costs associated with fishing. Boat, motor electronics, gas, travel expences, bait, hooks, lures, tackle etc…anyone fishing for a meal is kidding themselves. You can eat at Manny’s for far less :)
