We're getting ready to go in on Wednesday the 5th. Has anybody been in yet and had any ticks on them? I've had chronic lyme disease for years and don't mess around with that stuff. We generally do permethrin. Figured other people concerned about ticks can update here with how they are this year.

Definitely lots of ticks out in the Twin Cities already for the past week. Not sure about up north yet.

I can’t give a current update for the Bwca but I’ve seen deer ticks in and around the twin cities. I’ve seen plenty of wood ticks in the Bwca, but I’ve never encountered any deer ticks. Has anyone seen deer ticks in the Bwca?

I was out in the woods between Two Harbors and Ely this last weekend. I probably pulled a half dozen ticks off.

Paddled the Little Indian Sioux river this past Saturday and had 'procured my first tick of the season.

As a side note: The Echo Trail will have a different feel to it (for those who are somewhat familiar with it.) They have opened it up quite extensively. Both sides of the road ditches have been cleared some 20 feet - all brush & timber removed. Not so much on the Ely side but the mid section to the west side.

Yes, but more wood ticks than deer ticks usually. Here is a Good tick thread From two years ago.

Both of my parents got alpha gal syndrome this spring, and one got lyme's disease as well. It has made me take ticks a little more seriously.
