Reselling Campsites

This was suggested in another thread and now happening. How hard would it be to resell BWCAW permits?

That would be terrible. Just so people can profit off another person not as computer savvy.

Truly despicable.

Fortunately for the BWCA, unless I'm mistaken, this can't happen.
If you change the name of the group leader on your permit, you have to cancel and re-book your permit. If I'm wrong, please advise.

Yikes, sad to see Kansas in the article. I wonder if this is why it is so difficult for us to book a cabin in any of the state parks.

Have you ever had your ID checked? The single time a ranger asked to see our permit, he didn't. I haven't closely followed the current permit/lnt processes, but suspect they weren't designed for this kind if security.

While this disappoints me to no end it doesn't really surprise me either. It seems that no matter how they try to fix the systems someone is right there trying to exploit the loophole.

Stub Hub is legal scalping. Only allowed because it's connected to the ticket selling industry. I have ticket stubs from concerts in the 70s all under $10 for major acts. Ticket prices are ridiculous and Stub Hub just makes it worse. Hopefully this never happens for permits.

Yeah we're taking a pause from campground RV'ing this year. The huge increase in use during the pandemic was a bit of a shock. Glad people are taking the time to enjoy but we do miss the pre-pandemic campgrounds. Hoping the current spike in campers fades a bit. Still doing a little camping for some outdoor concerts/festivals but don't know that we'll hit up a campground in 2021. Otherwise we'll just have to change with the times I suppose.

Have some families we like to camp with but hard pressed to get a reservation the same weekend let alone the same campground right now
