missmolly: "20 pounds? Whoa! That's a bowling ball and five cans of beans."
Had to get rid the winter Covid fat, and Lent made it easier to give up certain things. Basically I didn't want to buy new pants :)

rdgbwca: "Based on that worm hook, it looks like these were taken with the zulu rigged zman shad. I also see some moving water in the photos. :-)
Looks like a fun time."
Yep, Zulu Rig in moving water. Notice I didn’t catch any of those while in a canoe.

I really enjoy catching quality smallmouth while ridge-running. Tough to beat that. Nice fish Mike

Mike,
I was drifting with the wind and current near the top of Thursday Bay, meeting up with the other two in my party, and I decided to drop a jig with the thought of perhaps catching a walleye or two for dinner when she took the hook. I was using a 1/4 oz jig with a 4" white Mister Twister. Most of the other smallies I caught on that trip were on the surface using a Whopper Plopper. Thankfully this fish kept her fight below the surface, making a couple of good runs that tested my drag.

That's awesome! I would rather catch a big smallmouth than eat a small walleye :)

My nephew and I had an amazing May 19th on SAK. I caught 25-30 SB 18" or better. Three were 21-21 1/2", almost all were on the spinner bait you recommend. My nephew got a SAK tattoo when he got home. We agreed that this was the best day of fishing that either of us have ever had. This includes Alaska and sailfishing trips.

BWfishingfanatic12: " Lacking in quality and we did not photograph a couple of our other big ones but here are a few from our Mid June trip. Caught on various methods including slip bobber, ned rig, texas rigged crayfish plastic, fluke, lindy rig. Mostly in 5-12 FOW.
