How do you believe the upcoming full moon will effect the fishing.
I'll be on Prarie side of Basswood, and will the working some Flicker minnows up around the mid lake reefs late and early.

I'm very interested to read future comments on this thread. This topic fascinates me. I've always heard that a full moon enhances fishing. Personally, I don't recall all that well whether or not a full moon has produced more or bigger fish for me. The obvious benefit of a full moon is that the better lighting makes it much easier to fish later into the night.

I am of the opinion that moon phase does affect animal activity. The days leading up to a full or new moon have produced some of the best fishing for me. Mostly in terms of numbers, but that usually brings bigger fish in by default.

I think the theory around this is based on the ocean tides. For example, with a full moon, high tide is at noon and midnight approximately. These are the major times; for about two hours the fish will be more active. The minor times would be around sunrise and sunset for about an hour when the tide would be low.

Obviously there are many more factors that will play a bigger role in fish activity. But, in my experience, I still have the greatest success during the major and minor times created by the moon. I use an app on my phone to keep track these times - "Fishing & Hunting Solunar Time"

The full moon absolutely is a thing. Midday is typically good during the full moon. Moon rise and moon set are good times to fish, and on the full moon these coincide with sunrise and sunset, so it's a double whammy. I saw a stat once that like 60% of world record fish are caught on the three days of the full moon or the day of the new moon.
