UPDATE: Delta Lake Fire and Fires in Canada - July 18, 2021 DELTA LAKE FIRE The Delta Lake Fire is 62 acres and 10% contained. A localized area of smoke that settled in, kept fire behavior rather minimal yesterday. Now that the fire is completely wrapped with nearly 4 miles of hose, crews prepped and tested pumps to begin “mop up”— the last stage before containment is declared. Structure protection crews continued connecting with members of the public to discuss ways to protect their property from wildfires. Slow and steady mop up operations will continue today. Crews will start using water to cool and reinforce the containment line. Interior pockets of unburned fuels could be active. Air resources will continue to drop water as needed. Patrol will be on the lookout for any spot fires.
