Going in August 9th and had a Mudro permit (cancelled). I snagged a Farm Lake that opened up today. My daughter already had a South Lake through Gunflint. We fish enough to eat meals at night, but like exploring, etc. We usually do longer loops. What is your vote? And suggestions for the route you would take? (We'll make a decision and release the second permit in the next day or two as we know folks are looking...)

How many nights? Never been to Farm but have experienced south a few times. So, I vote south to rose to mountain and out Clearwater.OR, mountain to north fowl to royal river, east like west pike and out Clearwater. Arrange for a pickup from Clearwater that would bring you back to your car.

Farm to the Kawishiwi triangle or down to Gabbro is a nice trip

Farm down the river to Clear Lake is nice and not too bad of a paddle. Can stop for a night or continue on. I imagine those routes are crazy busy now tho. Gunflint may be a little less nuts

Mocha: "How many nights? Never been to Farm but have experienced south a few times. So, I vote south to rose to mountain and out Clearwater... "

5 nights. That border route is a nice route. I've been on Mountain, Clearwater, West Pike, Pine, and all the lakes around East Bearskin multiple times. I have never been on the lakes from Gunflint to Rose, nor Duncan or Daniels. And I've never been in any of the area from Farm, only the area to the north that's currently closed...

I think both areas will be pretty nuts, honestly! There's literally no open permits in the whole BW, except for Trout. It's full up!
