I am going in at EP 30 on the 16th. Looking at the maps, would it be easier/better to go northeast by the lodge and then down to lake one, or take the portages that are southwest ?
I will be solo, and plan on getting on the water as early as I can, but avoiding 3 possibly crowded portages sounds good to me. Also, if anyone has been either way, what are the water levels ? I expect they are low, but any major headaches ?

I was there a month ago and had no issues with water levels. Did the paddle past the lodge, not the 3 portages. I think that's faster even for a solo single portaging.
