I have a Wenonah Wilderness with a bench seat and wondering if a Chosen Valley is worth the money. Are they a lot lighter than a wooden yoke and are they comfortable?

I have a pedestal yoke for a sliding bucket seat and found the canoe is too high off my shoulders. Also, do they work well with the adjustable seat?

I have not used their full yoke, but I do have the sling pads on a home made yoke that fits on the bench seat of my Wilderness. They are very comfortable.

I find the sling pads an abomination- they made carrying my 35# solo an ordeal of discomfort. Much prefer the simple rectangular pads. Try before you buy.

Thanks
I am planning sticking with my ash and square block portage yoke. I was told by Chosen Valley that their’s isn’t any lighter. If it was l might consider it.

I have a Wilderness with the bench seat with adjustable angle. I had the Chosen Valley yoke and was not a fan. Felt was spending too much time on portages as I was slow getting it clamped on right, and with the adjustable seat I was fighting with getting that seat back in position at the end of the portage. Also did not like the sling pads. Now using the Northstar clamp-on solo yoke with block pads. I like it a lot better as it is more comfortable, quicker on/off, and does not effect seat position. It is pretty light -- may even be lighter than the CVCA. Northstar Solo Yoke

I hate clamp on yokes so I duplicated something I saw somewhere online instead. Slide it under the back side of the seat, slip the attached bungee around a small screw under the front side of the seat (keeps it in place as I flip the canoe on my shoulders), and I'm down the trail.
