It's a very modest collection, but I had to move it. My house was built in 1888 and the previous owners had turned the old outside windows into built-in shelves. My son came up with the idea of the chains. I thought it turned out well.
The pike spinner had 23 cents written on it in pencil, but but it faded off. And I've never seen another doubtless Thomas scale.
Just sharing some pics and ideas. feel free to add your own pics.

Old stuff is cool. It doesn't really matter what category it falls into.
I like the chain idea, something a little different.
If you have enough old stuff from a particular category, and stare at them for a while, you will begin to see patterns of (not sure of the right term here, so I will go with...) evolution.
Can you still buy a Lazy Ike?

Not sure about this--if I posted photos of my slide rules (including a four foot Pickett class-room instruction model) I might get tossed off the BWCA.com forum! Nice collection, shock, and really neat displays.

Very nice collection, Shock. You call it modest. I call it pretty cool. I also noticed the old Webelos shoulder ribbon with the Activity Pins. That's pretty cool, too. That's been around for a while!

Thanks Jackfish (and others). Yes, somehow, through life, I've managed to hang onto the Webelo ribbon thing with all 15 pins. The compass and small single blade knife are Boy Scout items also.
The Rapalas in the middle are from the early ‘60s, and there is a difference.

I have that same ice fishing rod (stick) and a couple of those lures in my tackle box...still in use. I get really odd looks and laughs from my buddies when I stick that fishing rod into the ice. Probably should stop using it...but it is a happy memory of my grandfather.
How does that pan fish scale work? I assume it is an estimating guide.

Great collection plexmidwest. Wow! Looking at all your lures conjured up two memories for me:
- All those flatfish brought back memories of trolling for trout up in the U.P. and how we would nail them when no one else could catch em. Those rainbows loved those flatfish.
- The silver spoons with the red eyes brought back the time I was about 9 or 10 and I saved up to buy one to use on a trout lake by our home in Wisconsin. We always used worms/night crawlers soaked under a bobber but I wanted to catch one on a lure. My dad only had spinners and he said it was a waste of money buying spoons to use for trout in this lake. So I saved up and could finally buy this red eye spoon that I knew was going to catch the biggest rainbow in the lake. We got out on the water early and it was time for my first cast. I hit the Zebco button and away the red eye lure went and it just kept going halfway across the lake as the line broke. My dad looked at me and my dumbfounded look and all he said was "nice cast". We both died laughing and in future years anytime we would start casting spoons the story would be retold.
