Ice was good where there is not current 6-12" south of the Gunflint trail. Watch out (always) where there is flowage. Portages had a lot of groundwater flowing under the snow that still leaves a lot of rocks exposed. Lakes were windswept of most snow. Camped 3 nights under tarps along the edges of 3 different lakes. Temps 6-20°F, Light snows with Strong winds on the 20th.

Breakfast on the lake 3rd tarp camp on lake edge.
Embrace the winter!

Awesome Dan! Love that you're out there gettin' it, even when so chilly. Never fail to impress. Merry Christmas!
