Looks like I'll have to move 300 miles north.

As usual....

Grand Marais got 12 inches with yesterdays storm alone. Duluth had about ~5 inches earlier but we got a week of warm weather that ended with some rain and took it all. Now we have maybe 4-5 inches in Duluth, we got a little over 2 inches in yesterdays storm, there is a layer of ice under everything from the rain I mentioned.

You'll get your snow if you haven't allready--- places out E - Tenn,WV have allready seen seasonal norms and it's only early Jan. Some signs (not totally confident yet) point to a major arctic outbreak in 2 weeks or so. If so- this usually comes with a storm in front that lays down the white gold that allows cold air advection from the Arctic not to be as modified (as it would over bare ground). Some fun times are ahead -- btw- NE ND and NW MN are having their coldest start to JAN in recorded history-- avg'ing near -15F below normal with means near -10F through the first 10-12 days. It basically wipes out the warm DEC and then some.

If what I say above comes to fruition - we could be looking at one of the coldest winters since 2013-14 / 1994-95 / and even the late 70's for those that believed in global cooling.

That would be awesome.

I spent quite a bit of time outside today with the dogs in the 3 to 4 inches we got the other day. The weather was perfect. Bright sun, cold temps with a high of 15 on my thermometer.

Looking forward to more updates on the potential cold and snowy weather.

-29 last night at my place in Detroit Lakes, thinking about heading back to the banana belt of Duluth if this keeps up. Boy I hope you are wrong about the cold coming in 2 weeks WW.

We also have 2+ feet of snow n the ground, more here than Duluth.

Got some snow finally. Very little system snow. But when the low passed to the south and east got some good lake effect snow. For a total of about 6 inches.

Total for the season is 8 inches.

I feel that we are still in drought conditions from last summer. Never got the fall rains and so far very little snow.

Sad to say that you nailed this one WW.
I've been in Arizona for the last 6 weeks dry camping in my camper, I will be back to Duluth around March 28. The wify can deal with the cold until then.

Well, here we are a year later, and I'm still waiting for snow.

I cannot predict that yby will see accumulating snow in the last half of DEC--- all I know is I haven't seen a set up like this ( for years- maybe DEC 2009/DEC 2000) for MANY people reading to not only see snow- but most abundantly the last 2 weeks or so of DEC. Some locations, not used to snow - are going to get rocked. This of course will occur ( should?) with a brutal outbreak of Arctic air. -34F this morning in ND and many locations in that geo area set/tied record low temps. This air in that region , after a warmup into next week , will see another push of record cold temps and this time should push further into the Central/Plains States. After several mild DEC's the last several years- this one looks much colder and snowier for many-- though if not North of 45-46 LAT-- you will likely have to wait until the last half of DEC.
But regardless- Enjoy the weather- it's the only weather you got/
